Walk to School Day - Oct 2

We need a few parents to lead walking groups on national Walk to School Day, Wednesday, October 2nd.

Designated starting points include:

  • Dogwood Park (lower playground),

  • Elwood Smith Park,

  • Dawson Farm Park, and

  • New Mark Commons.

Please sign up here to lead walking groups or be at school to welcome all the walkers. Or email programs@brespta.org if interested or for any questions.

Help your child make a poster to bring on the walk - Walk to School Day logos available here. If you do not normally walk to school, use this opportunity to teach your child safe routes to school.

Look for the flyer to come home this Wednesday.

Fall Book Fair (Oct 10-16) - Volunteers Needed

Reading Matters! A student who reads 20 minutes a day will be exposed to 1,800,000 words per year and can score in the 90th percentile on standardized tests!

If you’d like to support students reading and our school book fair, please click here sign up to volunteer.

Fun Run - Oct 25

The PTA is getting ready to kick-start our major fundraiser of the year, 2019 Fun Run! Everyone can participate in the Fun Run on October 25th. A new obstacle course is being planned this year.

Look out for the flyer this Wednesday on how to set up an online fundraising page for your child and share with family and friends. Register online by October 14th for your child to receive a Fun Run wristband.

If we reach our goal of $7500, Mrs. DuBois, Mrs. West and Mr. Lightman will get egged! Funds raised go towards reimbursement of teacher supplies, school assemblies, playground shades and the school’s wish list.

Register now for after school activities

Have you registered your child for after school activities yet? Activities start soon (or already started) for the fall. Go to our After School Activity page to see flyers from each provider. Some providers may have extended their registration period (i.e. Big Learning has extended their early bird discount to 9/23.) Scholarships are available from many providers.

Contact each provider for information or any questions. The PTA does not sponsor or coordinate any programs.

Box Tops have gone mobile!

You can still clip these and send them to school. Every valid Box Tops clip is worth 10¢ and proceeds go to the school. Please make sure each clip has a valid expiration date.

The NEW and improved Box Tops mobile app uses state-of-the-art technology to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online.
